Head of the Department

We understand the need to keep in step with change while identifying and developing new avenues for research and fostering bright young minds. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our industry partners who have supported us in the past. I look forward to continuing our relationships and engaging with new partners. I hope that you will take this opportunity to interact with the Department. The overall aim of academic development is to improve the teaching and learning experience , and to provide students with the tools they need to succeed. The Department’s academic devel- opment initiative, which has been running, incorporates project-based hands-on activities, like computer literacy, technical reporting, model building and a mentorship programme, where senior students offer support to first- and second-year students. We have exciting and innovative research projects happening across the department. In many of the research areas, there is close collaboration with industry and government departments.

In the current dynamic development of technical disciplines, as well as the establishment of new disciplines within manufacturing, research and development are increasingly faced with the problem of obtaining a sufficient number of well-prepared technically and linguistically proficient skilled graduates – engineers, who must cope with requirements from practice. I take pride in the fact that our highly qualified faculty who are among the most productive in terms of scholarly publications also among the most effective teachers in the college of engineering, this has created both an environment of both graduate and under graduate students are actively engaged in research at the cutting edges mechanical sciences and engineering.
